Osteopathy and Dry Needling

Andrew has spent nearly 20 years working with the body and continues to be awed at how often it goes right rather than wrong. He studied at the British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy) the oldest Osteopathic college in the country, covering the essentials of Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology as well as the all-important Osteopathic skills of Palpation (conscious touch), Diagnosis and Treatment.

Osteopaths consider the whole body in their diagnosis and use a repertoire of techniques including soft-tissue work and gentle joint articulation to high-velocity joint manipulation and advice on remedial exercise to get you back to feeling your best as quickly as possible.

Andrew loves getting to know his patients and building lasting relationships. For while it's true that Osteopaths treat back, neck, leg and hip pain (to name just a few) Osteopathy is not only about the physical it's about understanding people.

Andrew often combines Osteopathy and Dry Needling (a simplified form of Acupuncture) to relieve pain and restore movement, function and balance to your body.

Originally from Hong Kong, Andrew is a great lover of London and is dedicated to helping its occupants live their lives as pain-free and pleasantly as possible.

Osteopathy Treatments

An initial 60 minute assessment consists of a thorough case history, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment. Follow up appointments are 40 minutes and consist a progress check followed by treatment.

Counselling Psychologist - Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, MSc Mental Health Studies, BSc Psychology

Helena is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Helena trained as a Counselling Psychologist at the University of Roehampton and has experience working in a variety of settings including mental health charities, community counselling, and primary care.

She has worked with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, work related issues, and other such difficulties.

Treatments Offered

We all encounter difficult times in life. The loss of loved ones, relationship breakdown, difficulties at work, and poor physical health, for example, may have a huge impact on our ability to function. We may feel anxious or depressed and find it difficult to know what to do to feel better. At these times counselling may be beneficial. Helena believes that one of the most important aspects of counselling is the relationship that develops between therapist and client, and she offers a safe and non-judgemental space to work together to explore the issues that are important to you.

Helena offers individual counselling and works integratively, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models. She has also trained in compassion focused therapy and finds this a helpful approach for working with our inner critic and feelings of low self-esteem. Helena has a particular interest in bereavement and experiences of loss, including the breakdown of relationships.

Information & Bookings

Helena offers a free 15-20 minute initial telephone conversation. This provides the opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling at this time and gives you a sense of the way that Helena works. This can help in deciding whether to go ahead with regular sessions together.

For bookings: If you would like to arrange an initial phone call, please email Helena or give her a call on 07905121266.

I do this by offering a space in which we develop a relationship in which you feel heard and understood, safe and not judged, cultivating an environment for opportunity and learning.

Initially we will chat to establish what you hope to get from counselling, to answer any questions you may have and decide whether you would like to meet face to face or online. Our first session will include a brief assessment and give you an opportunity to see if you feel we can work together. Our first session will be 50 minutes long at the reduced rate of £40.

Adaptive Sports Massage Treatments

Massage allows the nervous system to get a break from controlling movement and body tension in gravity, which is a welcome relief, helps us feel more connected, looser and in a better mood. Muscle, fascia, joints and fluids can be moved to improve many conditions including overuse; imbalance; postural entrapment; stress; fatigue; sleeplessness; EDS; chronic conditions; pre and post op rehab; strains; pain; injury, stiffness and reduced range of motion.

With Adaptive Sports Massage, by ‘reading’ the tissues through feel and applying intentional information by feel, Morag uses oil based therapeutic; deep tissue; sports; remedial; physiotherapy and clinical massage techniques to improve biomechanics and the release of muscles and fascia, with a sensitivity to the energies and influences that shape the way we move and feel. Please note, treatments are not suitable during pregnancy.
